Singing

Yesterday I left Elsie and Holly upstairs while I dashed down to get the phone. On my way back up, I heard harmonious noises, so I stopped on the landing for a little listen. Elsie was singing with great gusto, "Faithful God, he is a faithful God, he is a faithful God, he is a faithful God" (a song we've been singing a lot in church lately). Then she began some new verses complete with actions "bouncing God..." and "spinning God..." When I went in she looked up at me and informed me that, "I've been singing God songs to Holly. We sing it in church sometimes."

Too cute.

Semi-Lazy Bank Holiday

Today was a lovely little day. Nothing much of note really occurred, but I figured I'd blog about it anyhow just to get into the habit. We wanted to make the most of our bank holiday together whilst still getting something accomplished, so we decided to trek over to the Trafford Centre to get the girls' feet measured and buy new shoes. In the end, neither of their feet had grown at all since the last shoe purchases, so in one sense it was an unneccessary trip. But we had a good time wandering about, looking at the fountains and eating a Nandos lunch (yummy)! On the way home, we stopped off at a camping shop and bought some essential gear in the hopes that we can try out all of our new equipment soon. We got home too late for naps, but I got a bit of bedroom tidying done. The rest of the house is a complete tip, but I guess we'll deal with that another day.

Now, as the day draws to a close, my thoughts are turning back to regular life... printing off my chore list for the week, creating our meal plan and organising our days. I have been really trying to become more patient lately and to enjoy regular daily life instead of always waiting for the good bits of life to come along. It's all good, and I don't want to miss out on any of it by always looking ahead to the next exciting bit. This should be a week for practicing that. Nothing special planned, just life to live.

A Fresh Start

Ok, so I gave up on blogging for quite a while, but I'm feeling freshly inspired this spring. So I'm going to give it another go. I think my main problem before was that I lacked focus and direction for this blog. I considered it to be a digital notebook to jot things down for myself, but didn't have the confidence to want it to be a place to record my thoughts and family experiences publically. But I'm (sort of) ready to consider this a public blog that other people may actually read and go with it from that standpoint now.

So... here's to a fresh start and lots of blogging fun.
